Essential Skin Care: Hydrate, Exfoliate and Moisturize Skin

Strategies on vital skin care are simple and easy, just be sure to hydrate, exfoliate and moisturize your skin by following these steps:

• Wash your face at least twice a day to get rid of those microbes and harmful bacteria

Soap should never be used on your face but instead, apply a cleanser. Put the cleanser on your face using your finger tips while doing a circular movement. The cleanser must be suitable for your skin type.  Rinse off with lukewarm water and pat with a soft towel to dry. Remove make-up using a make-up remover. According to beauty experts, soap is applicable only from the neck down. Apply soap to the whole body using a sponge or a loofah.

•Exfoliate your face and body at least twice or thrice a week

Exfoliation is beauty regimen of removing dead skin and cells from the skin by using natural exfoliates as salt, sand, or sugar. It will also help in unclogging the pores from grime that causes acne and other skin blemishes. Exfoliation stimulates collagen production which is healthy for the skin. By exfoliation, fine lines along the face are hidden and the glow and luster of a youthful face is restored. Your skin will be looking great and feeling fresh all day.

• Use Facial Toner

Toner serves as a secondary measure to completely rid the skin of your face from the presence of excessive dust and dirt.  The air is filled with pollutants, with smog aplenty which demands this extra cleansing measure. Moreover, a toner tightens the pores which can reduce the incidence of acne.

• Moisturize your Skin

Moisturizer keeps skin hydrated for it acts as protective shield by keeping moisture on the skin. Use oil moisturizer as it is the best kind for it is compatible to most skin types.  After application of moisturizer, tap the skin with your fingers so it can absorb more moisture.

• Hydrate your Skin by Drinking Water

Hydrating your skin is a good way of retaining water since water is an integral part of good health. Drinking as much as 8 to 10 glasses of water daily fills your body requirement. To keep the skin from drying, apply cream or ointment or a moisturizer when the skin is still wet. This way, moisture is sealed in the skin.

•Use Sunscreen Protection

Avoid the deadly rays of the sun with the application of sunscreen on your face and screen. Exposing your skin to the sun especially late in the morning can be the cause of skin cancer. Apply sunscreen or sun block before going out. An umbrella or hat is not enough protection from the sunrays

•Be Choosy on your Skin Products

Look for products featuring peptides and antioxidants (particularly vitamin C), that do not make use of harmful synthetic ingredients such as parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate or PEGs.  Keep a close eye on the fragrance or perfume you are using since most of them contain varieties of synthetic ingredients that are harmful to your skin. Avoid using skin products that are likely to dry out your skin giving it that thin, frail, wrinkled look that nobody wants. Use products that contain elements such as hyaluronic acid and ceramides that can be very effective at plumping up the skin and aiding in the retention of moisture; also natural oils found in coconut and jojoba ingredients are helpful in maintaining a healthy-looking skin.

Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and exercising at least 3-4 times weekly can have fantastic results on the appearance of your skin.
